Health, Safety and Environmental advisor (Halifax)

35,000 - 43,000 per annum (Neg on experience)

GPS Recruitment have An exciting opportunity to become a key integral part of a leading manufacturing business in Halifax. As a EHS Advisor you will oversee, support, and advise the company on all matters concerning Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives. This is an extremely hands on role which will involve being on the shop floor making sure the entire manufacturing and production environment is adhering to it's HSE policies and commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and review risk assessments and actions for all operations and equipment
- Ensure compliance with statutory health, safety, and welfare regulations
- Implement health and safety policies, systems, and procedures
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections, walk rounds and audits
- Provide comprehensive health and safety training across the organisation
- Advise on personal protective equipment (PPE) and deliver relevant training
- Stay updated on health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate changes
- Lead monthly HSE meetings and liaise with external consultants
- Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on H&S matters
- Review and guide H&S investigations and corrective actions
- Manage and monitor the companies ESG Strategy
- Drive environmental management and sustainability efforts
- Ensure legal compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Integrate environmental considerations into policies, products, and operations
- Support recycling and waste management procedures
