Supportive, passionate TA required to support children with Autism in a friendly Halifax Primary

Are you passionate about helping set up young people for success? Are you keen to make a difference while also gaining valuable and rewarding experience?

A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school in Halifax for a September start. The school are looking for someone to work with pupils with Autism in a Year 1 class.

The role as a SEND TA:

• To support students who struggle with their class work
• Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
• To provide support to the class teacher
• To encourage children to do their best
• Help manage behaviour
• Build good realtionships with the children in your care

The successful SEND TA will:

• Be calm and compassionate. Personality is everything!
• Be able to take initiative well and problem solve
• Have some experience working with children - desirable but not essential
• Be patient. Some students struggle with additional learning needs and need someone supportive to help them get through the school day
• Understand the importance of safeguarding in schools
• Must have an enhanced DBS Check or be willing to apply for one
