Patent Paralegal – Leeds | Flexible Hybrid Working | Strong Development Pathway 

My client is a well-established and highly regarded firm with a strong presence in the IP space. With a close-knit team and structured training support from senior leadership, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Patent Paralegal looking to build on their IP career.

This role sits within a friendly and knowledgeable team in the Leeds office, where you will play a key part in managing formalities processes and supporting both junior team members and fee-earners. You’ll benefit from regular learning opportunities and be part of a wider initiative to drive best practice across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing incoming correspondence and ensuring accurate record updates, including docketing deadlines in the internal IP management system
  • Handling a range of formalities tasks such as Information Disclosure Statements (IDSs), Powers of Attorney, and declarations requiring inventor signatures, including coordinating any notarisation or legalisation
  • Leading regular team meetings focused on process improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Monitoring task workflows and coordinating with attorneys to manage deadlines and provide administrative support
  • Supporting and appraising more junior team members, particularly during training or peak periods
  • Reviewing work prepared by IP Administrators and assisting with training where required
  • Participating in paralegal meetings and keeping up to date with continuing professional development
  • Collaborating with senior members of the business services team to enhance overall team performance

About You:

  • CIPA qualified with a solid grounding in patent formalities and portfolio management
  • Experienced with IP management systems and confident using MS Office
  • Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to handle competing priorities
  • Comfortable supporting and training colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture
