Mechanical Service Engineer required for a company that installs, commissions and repairs CNC and Manual machine tools based in Halifax. The ideal candidate will be based locally and be a versatile service engineer with a mechanical bias background.
Mechanical Service Engineer Job Overview
- Planned Maintenance activities on CNC/Manual machine tools
- Reactive Maintenance activities on CNC/Manual machine tools
- Fault finding and repairs of machine at customers premises.
- Installation and commissioning of machinery.
- Ordering parts.
- Discuss and relay machine faults with the manager if required.
- Answer customer queries on machines.
Mechanical Service Engineer Job Requirements
- Prior experience in Field Service and/or Machine Tool service.
- Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC controls
- Good knowledge of fault finding, mechanical/electrical repair.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the week, and be prepared to stay overnight if required.
- Weekend work is rare but possible.
- Full UK driving license - preferably clean.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

- Salary- Circa 40,000 (dependent on skillset & experience)
