CNC Machinist (Setting / Operating) - 15-16 per hour - Halstead - Temp to Perm
A well-established engineering manufacturer is currently looking to recruit an experienced CNC machinist - Turning and Milling to join their busy production team. Working within the production department and reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes and milling machines to ensure high-quality components are produced efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities - Turning and Milling
- Setting up CNC lathes and milling machines ready for production
- Adjusting machine settings such as speeds and feeds
- Loading raw materials and unloading finished components
- Carrying out in-process and final inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Identifying and resolving machine or process issues during the shift
- Monitoring output quality and recording approved and non-conforming parts
Shift Patterns Available
- Day Shift:
Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-1:30pm - Early Shift:
Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:00pm (5 per day shift premium) - Late Shift:
Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-11:00pm, Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm (10 per day shift premium, Mon-Thurs)
Experience & Skills Required
- CNC turning and CNC milling experience (setting)
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Previous experience setting and/or programming CNC multi-spindle machines
- Knowledge of general machine shop practices
- Experience with Mazak and Fanuc controls is advantageous
