The company:Based near Halstead, you will be joining a well-known service-providing business which specialises in the maintenance of large vehicles and service-providing vehicles.

They are now seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanical supervisor to join their team and oversee the site near Halstead.Offering a range of benefits including flexi-start time, private healthcare, generous holiday allowance and more, this is an excellent time to join this fast-expanding company.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Supervisor:

  • Manage stores' functions
  • To supervise the daily running of the depot and all engineering staff
  • Ensure a sufficient number of vehicles are available for morning run out
  • To lead and motivate the staff
  • Carry out audits as required
  • To fully comply with all health and safety/ environmental legislation and group policies
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required
  • Ensure all vehicle-related paperwork is completed to a high standard

This is just a summed-up list of responsibilities and other duties will be required.

Technical knowledge and training:

  • Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (ie City and Guilds level 1 and 2) in heavy vehicle (PSV/HGV) repair and maintenance.
  • A strong engineering background with proven experience in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy vehicles.
  • Ideally, experience of leading a team, small or big.
  • Knowledge of strict health & safety regulations.
