Time-Served CNC Turner - North Lanarkshire

First Achieve Engineering are working on behalf of an established engineering firm in North Lanarkshire to recruit a Time-Served Turner for their precision machine shop.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for a stable, long-term role within a supportive and well-equipped engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate an XYZ RLX 555 CNC Lathe (manual and CNC control - training provided for XYZ programming if required)
  • Manufacture components to fine tolerances in various materials including steels, brass, bronze, graphite, pyrophyllite, and plastics
  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings
  • Collaborate with the wider team to problem-solve and develop bespoke solutions
  • Perform self-inspection of machined parts to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Manage tooling and consumable stock, including reordering as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment
  • Work independently and proactively, with a strong sense of responsibility

Candidate Requirements:

  • Time-served in Turning/Machining (essential)
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Competent in reading engineering drawings and measuring components
  • Positive attitude, reliable, and a strong team player
  • Experience with XYZ lathes or CNC programming is beneficial - training available if not

What's on Offer:

  • Straight Dayshift Mon-Fri (Mon-Thurs 07:30 - 16:15/Fri 07:30 - 12:30)
  • Quarterly Bonus/Enhanced Pension (after successful completion of probation period)
  • Competitive Hourly Rate
