Plant Manager – Energy Generation

Location: North Wales

Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

We are delighted to be supporting a key organisation in the energy sector to recruit a Plant Manager for a power generation facility based in North Wales.

This is a standout leadership opportunity for an experienced and driven individual to take ownership of day-to-day operations, safety, compliance, and long-term performance at a nationally significant site.

This is a critical position with real influence and responsibility — ideal for a candidate looking to lead a technically complex site and contribute to the UK's energy resilience and low-carbon future.

About the Role:

As Plant Manager, you will provide visible leadership across all site operations. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensure full compliance with statutory and internal standards, and be responsible for delivering key business objectives around production, reliability, safety, and cost control.

You will play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team contributing to wider business strategy and performance alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily activities on site, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

  • Lead the execution of the site’s business plan, including the delivery of production and reliability KPIs.

  • Drive continuous improvement in performance, maintenance, and risk management.

  • Manage site budgets, reporting, and planning activities aligned to the business strategy.

  • Ensure full compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Lead the planning and delivery of outages, from minor interventions to major works.

  • Act as Location Manager under company safety rules, including oversight of authorisations and incident management.

  • Build strong working relationships across internal departments and with key external stakeholders.

  • Promote and embed a proactive, high-performance safety culture across the site.

  • Represent the site at operational leadership forums and support integration with broader organisational objectives.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced operational leader with a strong technical background and a proven track record in managing complex, high-risk environments — ideally within energy generation or heavy industry.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in plant or site management roles within industrial or generation settings.

  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance, operations, and safety systems.

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.

  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and cost centres.

  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems (up to 400kV) is advantageous.

  • A proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.

  • Confidence in representing site operations at senior level.

What’s on Offer:

  • A key leadership role in one of the UK’s most critical energy generation assets.

  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Career progression opportunities within a respected and forward-thinking organisation.

  • A chance to live and work in one of the UK’s most scenic regions.

Ready to Apply?

If you are an experienced Plant Manager (or experienced operations leader ready to step into this level), and you're excited by the opportunity to lead a high-performing team at a major UK energy site, we’d love to hear from you.
