Mechanical Design Engineer
Permanent PositionSalary Guide: Circa £50.000 PA (dependent on experience)Location: Harlow, Essex
Establish Special Purpose Machinery Manufacturer is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their highly dedicated and skilled team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design new products from concept sketches or design briefs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Modify existing products to enhance functionality
- Produce mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings that meet ISO and quality standards
- Research and specify suitable proprietary parts
- Create and manage bill of materials (BOM); SAP experience is a bonus
- Maintain the standard product library
- Adhere to HSE machinery safety standards
- Conduct machinery risk assessments for new and existing equipment
- Support the production team during assembly and testing phases
- Implement change control processes for product improvements
- Develop machinery layouts for customer and quotation purposes
- Prepare operation and maintenance manuals
Key Skills Required:
- Expertise in Mechanical Engineering Design
- Proficiency with Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, and MS Office 365
- Ability to detail machined components, welded fabrications, sheet metal, and laser cut parts
Experience Needed:
- Familiarity with designing special purpose machines
- Working within the field of Mechanical Engineering Design
