Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 DOE

Hours: Mon–Thu 7:00am – 4:00pm (½ hr lunch) | Fri 7:00am – 12:00pm

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are proud to be supporting a rapidly expanding precision engineering and machining business working with high-value aerospace and defence clients.

With £10m+ in live orders and exciting projects on the horizon, we are seeking a Chief Quality Inspector to play a pivotal role in driving standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to bring their technical expertise, leadership, and passion for quality into a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, first-off production, and finished products.
  • Ensure full compliance with AS9100, internal standards, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare clear inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support production teams to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
  • Maintain and calibrate quality equipment (CMM, micrometres, callipers, shadowgraph, etc.).
  • Contribute to audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot even the smallest deviations.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, FAIR & PPAP requirements.
  • Solid problem-solving background using 8D / 5 Whys methodologies.
  • Confident communicator – able to collaborate with production, suppliers, and customers.
  • IT literate with Microsoft Office and ideally MRP/quality systems experience.
  • Previous quality inspection/manufacturing experience within aerospace or precision engineering preferred.
