GSL Education are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Harlow who are looking to appoint a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs.
This is a full-time, long-term role, starting in January, offering the opportunity to become a valued and consistent presence in a child’s school life. The school has a strong focus on inclusion and works closely as a team to ensure every pupil is supported to succeed.
The Role:-
Providing dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with SEN, helping them access learning throughout the school day.

Supporting the child’s academic, social, and emotional development in line with individual learning plans.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective support strategies.

Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

Supporting the child both in and out of the classroom, including during transitions and playtimes.

Monitoring progress and feeding back to staff to help shape ongoing support.

Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting (desirable but not essential for the right person).

A patient, calm, and nurturing approach.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Willingness to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
