Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 DOE
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm or part-time within school hours
We’re recruiting an Accountant on behalf of a well-established accountancy practice based in central Harrogate. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to join a supportive and growing team, offering long-term career progression and development.
Responsibilities of the Accountant role:

Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing their accounting, VAT, and corporation tax requirements

Prepare financial statements, VAT returns, and corporation tax submissions for partner review

Liaise directly with HMRC and other regulatory bodies

Provide support and advice to clients using cloud-based systems such as Xero
-
Identify opportunities to enhance client services and contribute to business development

Mentor and manage a small team
Key requirements:
-
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice

Strong account preparation experience and understanding of VAT and corporation tax

Proficient in Xero and cloud-based accounting systems

Organised and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills

Comfortable liaising with a variety of clients and managing relationships
