Butler Rose Public Practice Northern division are delighted to be working with a leading, independent firm chartered accountants and tax advisors in Harrogate . They provide a wide range of business services to organisations and individuals throughout the North of England. With exciting growth plans, they are now looking for an ACA/ ACCA or CTA qualified or newly qualified Manager with a strong skill set in either Accounts and Tax, Mixed Tax or Personal / Private Client Tax, with a strong bias towards tax experience. SUMMARYYou will be joining a dynamic team of highly experienced accountants and tax professionals in their Harrogate office. They are a multi-disciplined professional services company which includes Chartered Accountants, Tax Advisers, Financial Planners and Legal professionals working across offices in Yorkshire and Derbyshire. With ambitions to further your tax career, your main focus in this role will be to direct the provision of mixed taxation services to a wide range of clients (with a personal tax bias), whilst also managing general tax compliance to a large portfolio of individuals, entrepreneurs and their businesses. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Tax Manager you will be....

  • Leading tax advisory projects and working closely with the directors on tax planning matters including Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and profit extraction
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing tax compliance for a wide range of clients
  • Undertaking technical tax reviews on personal, partnership, trust and corporation tax computations
  • Reviewing the work of team members
  • Managing the P11D process and reviewing the forms prepared by junior members of staff
  • Preparation of disclosures for HMRC
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients
  • Providing general tax technical assistance to clients, directors and colleagues across the group

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • You will ideally be CTA/ ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Able to work effectively in a busy practice environment and ensure deadlines are met
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Strong prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Experience of Iris Accountancy Suite an advantage
