Maintenance Engineer

Harrogate, day shift, flexible hours, apprentices considered

This is an excellent opportunity for an experience or trainee Maintenance Engineer to work to work in a busy manufacturing environment undertaking planned and preventative maintenance of equipment and breakdown repairs. This is daytime shift we are keen to hear from people with a passion for engineering who are either looking to do an apprenticeship or who are experienced and happy to train apprentices.

The role

  • Undertaking planned and preventative maintenance on a range of automated manufacturing equipment
  • Attending breakdowns, undertaking fault finding and repair
  • Working with hydraulics, pneumatic's, conveyors systems, motors, pumps and other mechanical systems
  • Fault finding on wiring, control panels and 3 phase motors
  • Working with the engineering manager to implement improvements where possible.
  • Upgrading and installation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Keeping accurate records of service and maintenance history
  • Working with PLC's to identify faults

The person:

  • You may be a confident engineer looking for a new challenge, just completed your apprenticeship or be looking to join a company who will put you through an engineering apprenticeship.
  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification to minimum be a time served or happy to study towards
  • Have a keen interested and / or skills in mechanical and electrical work
  • Be keen to undertake additional training where appropriate
  • We would be really interested to hear from candidates who are able to weld and machine parts
  • Be happy to undertake physical work and occasionally work at heights
  • Have confident fault finding and repair skills
  • Be able to work independently and assist with the guidance of apprentices
  • Have a good work ethics and be able to provide excellent references
