Reed are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for our client who can maintain their financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be proficient with Sage 50, and have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform various accounting tasks.
  • Utilise Sage 50 accounting software to manage financial transactions.
  • Oversee Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements diligently.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Conduct VAT Return preparations.
  • Post complex journals, payroll journals, and manage intercompany reconciliations.
  • Efficiently manage the filing of documents both electronically and manually.
  • Carry out general administrative activities as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of preparing VAT Returns and posting complex accounting journals.
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks alongside bookkeeping responsibilities.
