The Company:

An established Groundwork and Formwork contractor based in Harrow is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing team who currently have a workforce of 50+ Contractors

Overview

As the Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial strategy for the groundwork and formwork projects. You will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and client relationships while driving profitable growth and contributing to the company's long-term development.

Day to Day:

Oversee the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring cost control and contract compliance.

Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with business objectives.

Lead on cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting.

Manage client relationships, fostering strong connections and identifying business opportunities.

Negotiate contracts, manage variations, and resolve disputes efficiently.

Ensure that project risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.

Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management.

Support project teams with procurement and subcontractor management.

Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in a Commercial Manager role within groundwork, formwork, or civil engineering sectors.

Strong understanding of contract law, cost control, and financial planning.

Excellent negotiation skills and commercial awareness.

Ability to build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Effective leadership and team management skills.

Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, project management software).

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field preferred.
