Join our esteemed institution in Northwest London, a leading co-ed, all-through 3 to 18, independent school. We are seeking a dedicated Groundsperson to support our Grounds Manager in maintaining our school's playing surfaces and grounds. This role is integral to providing a world-class school experience, from  Nursery to our bespoke Sixth Form centre.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the smooth running and safe use of the school’s playing surfaces alongside the Grounds Manager and team.
  • Participate in the setup and maintenance of equipment for school activities and private hires.
  • Engage in routine preparation, cultivation, setup landscaping, minor construction, and maintenance work across various sports facilities and surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in machinery sheds, yard, outhouses, and across school buildings.
  • Regularly check and maintain vehicles, machinery, and equipment to meet operating requirements.
  • Assist in snow removal to ensure safety during inclement weather.
  • Perform general maintenance, development work, and light labouring duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GCSEs or equivalent required.
  • Desirable: City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Sports and Amenity Turf Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Desirable: PA1 & PA6 spraying and/or Chainsaw licence.
  • Experience in grounds and/or general labouring.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of machinery and tools; training provided.
  • Capable of heavy lifting and carrying out general labouring tasks safely.
  • Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with the school community and users of the playing fields.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
