This temporary role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £32.10 Umbrella PAYE, along with excellent training opportunities, career development prospects, and 21 days of annual leave (excluding Bank Holidays).Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Harrow Council's operational and strategic response to rough sleeping, working collaboratively with key partners from statutory and voluntary sectors.
  • Coordinate and oversee various initiatives aimed at reducing and ultimately ending rough sleeping, ensuring effective delivery and ongoing evaluation.
  • Analyse outcomes, monitor progress, and implement best practices from national rough sleeper strategies and successful projects.
  • Work closely with the Housing Needs team, providing leadership and maintaining momentum to drive sustainable solutions to rough sleeping in Harrow.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of key legislation like the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Code of Guidance
  • Understanding of housing-related benefits
  • Experience handling face-to-face interactions in tough situations
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Sensitivity to the needs of diverse groups in Harrow
  • Ability to manage grant funding and financial data
  • Strong English skills, with the ability to support homeless individuals under stress
  • Ability to collaborate with agencies and organizations helping rough sleepers
  • Must have a valid driving license and access to a car
