The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a proactive and resilient Enforcement Officer to tackle environmental offences across the borough - with a particular focus on fly-tipping and illegal waste disposal.
This is a hands-on role that requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and investigate areas affected by fly-tipping and illegal dumping.
- Search for identifying evidence (e.g., names, addresses, documents) to trace offenders.
- Report incidents to the Waste Team for prompt removal and clean-up.
- Prepare and issue penalty charges in line with council enforcement procedures.
- Attend planned evening enforcement actions as required.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a personal vehicle.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexible to attend evening operations when scheduled.
- Strong observational and investigative skills.
- Previous experience in enforcement, environmental services, or similar fields is desirable - but the manager is open to candidates with transferable skills.
