An innovative and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher is required to join an Outstanding mixed school in Harrow for a permanent part-time position commencing in September. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical abilities through design and technology projects.
Responsibilities
- They will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
- The role includes developing students' skills in designing, making, and evaluating products using a range of materials and technologies.
- They will foster a stimulating and safe workshop environment that encourages experimentation and innovation.
- Assessment and monitoring of student progress in Design and Technology, along with providing feedback, will be required.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design and Technology or a closely related subject is essential.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is desirable.
- A solid understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and relevant technologies is expected.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills are necessary.
