The School and Role

We are working with Secondary Schools in the Hartlepool area, seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join as Teaching Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on daily supply or in longer fixed-term supply contracts, supporting students across various subjects.

As a Teaching Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to classes of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the regular teacher. While you will cover a range of secondary school subjects, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area. Lesson plans will always be provided in advance, and your primary role will be to facilitate learning, manage classroom behaviour, take accurate registers, and provide feedback to the absent teacher.

Successful Teaching Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, confident, and organised. They have a passion for education and supporting young people, making a real difference in students' learning experiences.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience working within a secondary school, particularly for those considering a career in teaching. Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential. If you are new to the role, we offer a comprehensive Teaching Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you with the necessary skills. Visit our website to learn more, or send us your CV, and one of our consultants will provide further details.

The desired Teaching Cover Supervisor will have:

  • A degree or equivalent education.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role.
  • Confidence and natural leadership skills to lead a lesson in the absence of the class teacher.
  • A passion for education and supporting young people to reach their full potential.

What We Offer

As a Teaching Cover Supervisor, you will benefit from:

  • Excellent daily rates paid through the PAYE system.
  • Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability).
  • Social and networking events.
  • Pension contributions.
  • CPD opportunities to support your professional development.
  • Access to a dedicated consultant for guidance and support.
