Social Worker - Safeguarding, Assessment & Support (SAS) TeamLocation: Hartlepool Borough CouncilHourly Rate: £32.87Contract: Temporary/Full timeRole Overview:As a Social Worker in the SAS (Safeguarding, Assessment & Support) Team, your primary responsibility is to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people. The role involves assessing needs, managing risks, and delivering timely interventions in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake clear, evidence-based assessments to understand the needs of children and their families.

  • Create and implement outcome-focused care and support plans.

  • Provide direct support to families and children, helping to reduce risk and improve well-being.

  • Work closely with schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies to coordinate services.

  • Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and reviews.

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation in line with statutory responsibilities.

  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree or diploma in Social Work.

  • Registration with Social Work England.

  • Experience in child protection, safeguarding, or statutory children's services.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure while maintaining high professional standards.
