You will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families, providing expert advice and recommendations to inform decisions about the level of support needed. You will be a key member of the team, contributing to the provision of high-quality assessment services.Key Responsibilities:* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, utilising a range of assessment tools and methodologies. This involves working directly with families, schools, and other relevant agencies to gather information.* Develop detailed and well-supported assessment reports that clearly articulate the child's or family's needs and risks. This requires excellent writing and analytical skills and attention to detail.* Make informed recommendations based on your assessment findings, providing clear guidance on appropriate interventions. This will involve considering a range of factors and using professional judgement to determine the most appropriate course of action.* Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to case discussions and contributing to decisions about appropriate levels of support. This requires strong communication and collaboration skills.* Liaise effectively with other professionals, including social workers, health visitors, educational psychologists, and police, sharing assessment findings and contributing to collaborative working.* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to all relevant legislation and professional guidelines. This involves meticulous record-keeping, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations. You will be expected to use the Council's electronic case management system.* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's services. This involves participating in regular supervision and contributing to team meetings.* Participate in regular supervision and training opportunities.Essential Criteria:* A recognised Social Work qualification.* Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.* Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social work.* Proven experience conducting comprehensive child and family assessments.* Excellent assessment, analytical, and report writing skills.* Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.Desirable Criteria:* Experience working within a specialist assessment service.* Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy frameworks (e.g., Children Act 1989).* Experience with case management software.Benefits:* Competitive hourly rate of £32.87.Apply
