- Take charge of the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to colleagues, including bookkeepers and finance administrators.
- Ensure all financial operations are compliant with company policy, accounting standards, and relevant legislation.
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, managing the annual audit from start to finish.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and contribute to group-level financial reports.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow, identifying potential risks and taking proactive measures.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls.
- Support tax compliance activities (e.g., VAT, corporation tax) in collaboration with external advisors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within the finance function.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.
- Month-end reporting delivered on time with full accuracy.

- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with a strong background in audit or financial control.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a senior finance position, with proven expertise in month-end processes, reporting, and audit management.
- In-depth technical knowledge of UK accounting standards (FRS 101 / FRS 102).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven leadership skills, mentoring and guiding junior finance team members.
- Proficient in financial systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP) with advanced Excel skills.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across the business.
