About the Role:
We’re recruiting for a Production Operative to join a leading manufacturing business at their Haslingden site. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and is committed to quality, safety, and teamwork.
As a Production Operative, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating production line equipment used in the manufacture of PU underlay. You’ll ensure quality standards are met, waste is minimised, and production targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate machinery for production ensuring optimal line speeds and output

Perform regular quality checks (e.g., weight and gauge) and accurately record results

Start up and shut down equipment at the beginning and end of the week

Monitor machines and escalate faults or breakdowns to the Line Leader or Shift Supervisor

Support process changes by ensuring all materials and resources are ready
-
Follow production schedules and adhere to required order quantities
-
Comply with all company Health & Safety procedures, wearing appropriate PPE at all times

Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free work environment (good housekeeping is essential)

Report near misses or safety incidents immediately

Take ownership of both your own safety and that of your colleagues
What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a production or manufacturing role preferred

A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Physically able to perform manual tasks and maintain pace on the line

Understanding of health & safety in the workplace

Willingness to work rotating shifts
