Autism Specialist Support Assistant - Hassocks

We’ve spent over a decade building strong relationship with schools in Hassocks, and we’re now looking to recruit for one of our Outstanding SEND schools. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a lovely school who are currently expanding - opening 2 new classes for September!

The right candidate will need to provide educational and personal support to children aged 11-19 with a diagnosis of Autism, usually high functioning Autism or Asperger’s syndrome.

They are looking for proactive and passionate support assistants who are keen to interact with students. This role would be suitable for trainees and Graduates, who are eager to pursue a career within Special Education. Psychology or Maths graduates are always really highly looked upon for this role, so anyone with a psychology or maths degree or background are strongly encouraged to apply!

It is not essential to have school based experience, as training can be provided. However, having some experience with Autism (either personally or professionally) would be preferable!

The role:

• Earn up to £550 per week

• Full-time position

• Small group work and intervention support responsibilities

• 1:1 support for special needs and lower ability pupils

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who want to move into a career in teaching. You will benefit from in-depth support and training from the school, and develop your knowledge of the national curriculum.

• Have experience working with students aged 11-19

• Be confident managing behaviour

• Have a fun but firm presence

• Have an interest in education
