- Handling daily accounts post/DX and forwarding to relevant staff
- Downloading and reconciling daily bank statements for all accounts
- Processing incoming/outgoing payments—CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments
- Allocating and posting receipts, including foreign and card payments
- Preparing deposits, cheque requests, and printing Client/Business cheques
- Performing Client-to-Business transfers and interest calculations
- Ensuring the integrity of Client ledgers and preventing overdrawn balances
- Assisting with credit control, petty cash payments, and reconciliations
- Running and filing daily finance reports and housekeeping documentation
- Supporting the Finance Manager and senior colleagues on ad hoc tasks
- Responding to internal and external finance-related queries professionally
- Maintaining compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules at all times
- Minimum 2 years’ Legal Cashier experience within a law firm (Client side)
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SRA)
- GCSE-level education or equivalent, including strong numeracy
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident and professional telephone manner
- Strong organisational skills and a team-first attitude
- Experience with Partner for Windows legal accounting software
