Sonic Summary

Our client in Hastings is seeking a maintenance engineer to support their ongoing growth.
The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position and a recognized electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualification, with a preference for mechanical.
Key responsibilities include general maintenance, planned maintenance, and reactive maintenance of machinery, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The position offers a salary of £35,000 per year and includes benefits such as 25 days of holiday, a company pension, and a healthcare scheme.
Working hours are full time at 40 hours per week, initially from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm before transitioning to 2 pm to 10:30 pm.

Our client is based in Hastings and due to their continual growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join their team.

Main Duties:

Carry out general maintenance of plant, equipment and fabrication of building as required.
To carry out planned maintenance as directed by Engineering manager.
To efficiently deal with reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment, to ensure the minimum disruption to production.
To liaise with the Engineering manager and Health and Safety Coordinator about health and safety of equipment and in the use of chemicals within the workplace.
To complete accurate and appropriate records for maintenance carried out ensuring the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual are maintained.
To contribute to the development of activity, policies and procedures that will reduce energy costs across the site.
To comply with current Health and Safety, Food safety and hygiene legislation.
Carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge:

Recognised electrical and/or mechanical engineering award. Mechanical preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Range of skills in electrical controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and turning etc. (Advantageous).
Ability to plan and organise resource.
Effective problem solver.
Ability to use initiative.
Effective communication.
Able to work effectively in a team and alone.

Working Hours:

Full time - 40 hours a week.
8:30am -4:30pm for the first month then changing to 2pm - 10:30pm.
