  • Working hours are full time at 40 hours per week, initially from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm before transitioning to 2 pm to 10:30 pm.

Our client is based in Hastings and due to their continual growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join their team.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out general maintenance of plant, equipment and fabrication of building as required.
  • To carry out planned maintenance as directed by Engineering manager.
  • To efficiently deal with reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment, to ensure the minimum disruption to production.
  • To liaise with the Engineering manager and Health and Safety Coordinator about health and safety of equipment and in the use of chemicals within the workplace.
  • To complete accurate and appropriate records for maintenance carried out ensuring the standards as set out in the Company Policy & Procedures Manual are maintained.
  • To contribute to the development of activity, policies and procedures that will reduce energy costs across the site.
  • To comply with current Health and Safety, Food safety and hygiene legislation.
  • Carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge:

  • Recognised electrical and/or mechanical engineering award. Mechanical preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Range of skills in electrical controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and turning etc. (Advantageous).
  • Ability to plan and organise resource.
  • Effective problem solver.
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Effective communication.
  • Able to work effectively in a team and alone.

Working Hours:
