Engineer Coordinator
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Engineer Coordinator to join my client’s growing team.
You will be instrumental in the smooth and efficient scheduling of field engineers, ensuring timely and high-quality installations for their clients.
This fast-paced role requires exceptional communication skills, a calm and professional demeanour, and the ability to effectively manage a high volume of calls and emails.
Ideally, you will have a background in scheduling engineers in a similar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently plan and schedule installation appointments for field engineers, considering geographical locations, engineer skill sets, and client availability.
- Utilise strong geographical knowledge to plan the most efficient routes for engineers, minimising travel time and maximising productivity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for engineers regarding their daily schedules, providing clear and concise information and responding promptly to queries via phone and email.
- Communicate effectively with clients to confirm installation dates and times, provide updates, and address any scheduling-related inquiries.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts or logistical challenges to ensure smooth operations.
- Professionally and calmly handle a high volume of incoming calls and emails, effectively diffusing difficult situations and finding appropriate solutions.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a scheduling or coordination role, with specific experience scheduling field-based engineers.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and confident telephone manner.
- Proven ability to diffuse difficult situations and handle challenging conversations over the phone with tact and diplomacy.
- Highly proactive with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to anticipate and resolve issues independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good geographical knowledge of the local area and surrounding regions to effectively plan engineer routes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using scheduling software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
