Smart10 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor for our client based in Hertfordshire 

  • Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor    
  • Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
  • Location: Hertfordshire 
  • Permanent Position 
  • Between 06:30 - 16:30, potentially finishing at 17:30  

 Job Description - 

The Role will require an experienced supervisor to oversee the warehouse activities and daily operations. 

Our client is looking for a motivated individual who can use their own initiative. The Warehouse Supervisor role requires taking overall responsibility for the storage, stock, assembly, distribution and workload in the warehouse. The role will also include maintaining and managing stock onsite and liaising with external partners and companies, keep core stock available for next day delivery. 

Our client is an SME business with a small core warehouse team that embraces their values and family feel, the right candidate will be collaborative with strong communications skills and an even stronger work ethic. 

Key Responsibilities - 

  • Point of contact for both internal and external queries regarding distribution, manufacturing and stock 
  • Manage workflow in the warehouse and assigning duties to different warehouse operatives 
  • Managing ordering, receiving, storing and dispatch of all products 
  • Manage absence / holiday requests to ensure we are operationally covered and ensuring everyone takes their annual leave 
  • Monitoring sickness and absences that have not been approved 
  • Control asset tracker and COSHH data 
  • Upholding high standards of cleanliness - daily clean, tidy, forecourt/yard, skip change, signage, allocated locations 
  • Participate and manage full stock take process (this is usually carried out outside of normal working hours)
  • Comply with all Health and Safety requirements 
  • Carry out daily warehouse briefing 
  • Represent warehouse in daily morning meetings with other departments and teams in the business 
  • Minimise waste and ensuring cost effective working and environment 
  • Effective communication with all departments and colleagues 
  • Managing team performance, whilst also monitoring it and holding regular 1-2-1 with the warehouse operatives as well as team meetings 
  • Perform general maintenance, basic handyperson task including dealing with company tools and machinery 
  • Upholding company values! 

Role Requirements - 

  • Problem solving / solution focused 
  • Strong organisation skills 
  • Successful experience in leading, training and developing a team
  • Able to build key relationships 
  • Must hold a UK Driving Licence 
  • Able to cover early and late shifts when needed 
  • Forklift Counterbalance Licence
  • Understanding of risk & Methods Statements of COSHH
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety within a Warehouse Environment 
  • Positive, proactive and punctual 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills 
  • Good numerical skills and commercial skills 
  • Good communicational skills both written and verbal 
  • Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft systems 

Preferred Skills - 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar role 
  • Understanding of ERP systems 
  • Experience with remote warehouse location management 
  • A qualification in Procurement or People / Stock Management
