Job Title: Material Logistics Team Leader

Location: Welham Green

Contract: Full – time / Permanent

Pay: £30k - £32k per year

My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Material Logistics Team Leader to oversee daily operations related to the movement, storage and distribution of materials!

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the stores, cycle count and dispatch functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with leading the Material Controller in such way as to ensure optimum efficiency, cost effectiveness and product availability
  • To be the first point of contact within goods in and dispatch areas to resolve problems and issues as they arise
  • Responsible for picking, packing and final inspection operations within both goods in and dispatch areas always maintaining high accuracy levels
  • Encouraging teamwork to ensure productivity and KPI targets are met.
  • Ensuring full count of A, B and C classification parts whilst meeting agreed count targets
  • Encouraging continuous improvement ideas resulting from investigating and addressing root causes of inventory losses or gains
  • Motivate all team members to achieve maximum results whilst maintaining moral and job satisfaction
  • Complete necessary transactions for non conforming parts with Epicor ensuring high accuracy is always maintained
  • Work closely with the Material Logistics Supervisor to ensure quality is met
  • Compliance with company procedures as detailed in the quality management system
  • Ensure all aspects of the dangerous goods act are fulfilled
  • Liaise with manufacturing and planning departments ensuring raw materials are accurately always accounted for
  • Deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues that are driven by measurable data efficiently
  • Ensure Health & Safety is followed

Skills Required:

  • Experience working within a busy Warehouse environment
  • Leadership role experience
  • Experience with manufacturing processs:es
  • The ability to deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues
  • Good knowledge of the dangerous goods act
  • Inspection process knowledge
  • Experience with using UPS shipping software
  • Leading a complex team
  • Experience with implementing lean management methodologies
