My client is looking for an Estates Supervisor to join their expanding Estates team. This pivotal role involves supervising the maintenance and landscaping of facilities, including halls, buildings, and open spaces. You will work under the Head of Estates and deputise in their absence, ensuring all facilities are safe and well-maintained.
Day-to-day of the role:- Supervise routine grounds maintenance work across various sites, ensuring safe and clean environments and adherence to good practices.
- Prepare and maintain playing surfaces and open spaces to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Stay updated with horticultural, sportsturf, and facilities management best practices and legislation, including health and safety, applying this knowledge across all activities.
- Supervise and operate equipment and machinery such as hedge cutters, hand tools, strimmers, and ride-on mowers following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deputise for the Head of Estates in managing facilities, including water management, asbestos control, and emergency procedures in council halls and buildings.
- Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within estates or facilities management.
- Experience managing staff and operating horticultural machinery and hand tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation, standards, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with staff, customers, and the public.
- Positive and professional attitude, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness necessary for manual tasks and the ability to lift heavy items.
- Full driving licence.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in horticulture and sports turf.
- Additional qualifications such as NVQ or Diploma in Sports Turf Management.
- Knowledge of sports turf machinery maintenance.
- General DIY skills and a modern approach to sports turf maintenance.
- Qualifications or experience in Facilities Management.
- Flexible working hours with a standard schedule of Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:00, Friday 08:00-15:30.
- 24 days annual leave plus statutory holidays, with additional leave entitlement after 5 years.

- DBS certification required for this role.
