Job Description: SEN Teaching Assistant (1-5 days per week)Location: Hatfield, HertfordshireAgency: Aspire PeopleHours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (flexible 1-5 days per week)Salary: Competitive, based on experienceAbout the Role:Aspire People is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and inclusive educational environment in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. The role is flexible, with the option to work between 1-5 days per week. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them achieve their individual learning goals and ensuring they are included in all classroom activities.Key Responsibilities:Supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEN) within the classroom.Assisting the class teacher in implementing tailored lesson plans and activities.Helping students develop key skills such as literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.Promoting an inclusive classroom environment, ensuring all students feel supported and valued.Monitoring student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents where appropriate.Supporting students with behaviour management strategies as directed by the class teacher.Assisting with personal care or medical needs (if required) in a sensitive and appropriate manner.Contributing to the development of IEPs (Individual Education Plans) and ensuring these are followed.Building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a collaborative approach to learning.Skills & Qualifications:Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.An Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) is required (Aspire People will assist in the application if needed).Drivers preferred, due to the nature of the role and location.A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students.Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of different students.Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.A commitment to inclusive education and promoting positive learning experiences.Additional Information:This role is based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and the successful candidate will be required to work from 8:30am to 3:30pm.The position is available for 1-5 days per week, offering flexibility to suit your availability.Drivers are preferred, as the school is located in an area that may not be easily accessible by public transport.How to Apply:To apply for this exciting opportunity, please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience to Aspire People.
