In this newly created Financial Controller role, you’ll take ownership of the numbers and play a crucial part in steering the business through its next phase, whether that’s supporting due diligence or influencing strategic decisions as a future SLT member.This is a hands-on role in a growing SME where your voice matters. You'll join a close-knit team that values straight-talking, sleeves-rolled-up collaboration and a strong team culture (racecourse trips and legendary Christmas parties included). With brand-new offices, flexible hours and the chance to drive real commercial outcomes, this is a great opportunity to take control; literally.Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Producing accurate monthly management accounts and analysis
  • Reporting on P&L, job costing (labour/materials) and WIP
  • Leading month-end close and preparing board packs for review
  • Supporting Directors with strategic planning and financial insight
  • Playing a key role in due diligence and reporting
  • Collaborating with the Finance Administrator to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly
What you will need:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Controller / Finance Director / Head of Finance / Finance Manager / Management Accountant
  • Qualified ( CIMA / ACCA / ACA ) or QBE with relevant experience
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot tables
  • A confident and professional approach and the ability to flex in a fast-moving setting
  • A background in construction / engineering / trades would be ideal but not essential
