CMA is delighted to be working exclusively with a leading organisation in Havant to recruit a Payroll Specialist on a part-time, fixed-term basis. What will the Payroll Specialist  role involve?

  • Processing and managing day-to-day UK payroll for approximately 1,700 employees.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for payroll queries and providing expert guidance on payroll legislation.
  • Conducting secondary checks on all payroll input and managing arrears/off-cycle payments.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax, NI, pension, and statutory payment regulations.
  • Supporting year-end activities, including FPS, P60, P11D and PAYE Settlement Agreements.
  • Playing a key role in upcoming payroll systems transitions and supporting related projects.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and reconciling payroll outputs.

Suitable Candidate for the Payroll Specialist vacancy:

  • Proven experience running an in-house, end-to-end UK payroll.
  • In-depth understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory payments.
  • Confident in manual payroll calculations and secondary checks.
  • Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and ideally familiar with Oracle and/or SAP.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
