Our client, a specialist Civil Engineering contractor with over 90 years of experience, is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support a key project in Hampshire. The company delivers complex infrastructure schemes across flood defence, coastal, and environmental sectors with a strong emphasis on sustainability, safety, and quality.
This position is a 3 to 6 month fixed-term role offering the opportunity to contribute to a significant reservoir project as part of a supportive and experienced team. It would suit an individual seeking an interim position with a reputable, community-driven contractor.
SHEQ Advisor Job Overview
- Support the implementation and management of integrated Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) systems across site
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with current legislation and company procedures
- Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions where necessary
- Maintain and report on key HSQE performance metrics to management
- Provide ongoing support and advice to site teams, fostering a strong safety culture
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly working near water and within construction environments
SHEQ Advisor Job Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential
- Groundworks experience
- Practical experience in a construction H&S role, ideally with infrastructure, civils or water-related projects
- Experience with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards
- Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
SHEQ Advisor Salary & Benefits
- Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 per annum DOE Pro rata
