Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Planner to oversee capacity planning, infrastructure optimization, and lifecycle management of data center resources. The role involves collaborating with IT and facilities teams, utilizing DCIM tools, and ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Wintel and RHEL environments, storage management, and backup/recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and forecast data center capacity requirements (power, cooling, space, network) across multiple facilities.
  • Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to define and manage hardware deployment roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain data center layout designs, rack elevations, and physical hardware placements.
  • Monitor utilization of resources to identify constraints and implement optimization measures.
  • Manage the data center inventory lifecycle, tracking assets from procurement to decommissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards in all data center operations.
  • Prepare documentation and management reports on capacity planning, asset tracking, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Support infrastructure expansions, hardware refreshes, and migration projects.
  • Utilize DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools to maintain accurate records and visualizations.
  • Evaluate new technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and support enterprise Wintel environments (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) and RHEL infrastructure.
  • Monitor and manage SAN/NAS storage systems, including provisioning, tiering, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Support backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies across multiple platforms.
