Assembly Operator

Location: Great Portsmouth
Temporary Role
Pay: 12.75ph
Hours of work: 7:30-4:30 Mon-Thur, 7:30-12:30 Fri

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Assembler responsible for the assembly and testing of high-end aviation seating switches and lighting products. Our clients include major global airlines such as Qantas, Etihad, Emirates, and British Airways. The role requires precision, technical understanding, and the ability to follow detailed assembly instructions and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test aviation products in accordance with engineering drawings and build specifications
  • Conduct in-process checks to ensure components are functional throughout the assembly process
  • Identify and report any manufacturing or design issues encountered during production
  • Accurately interpret mechanical assembly drawings provided by internal Design Engineers
  • Ensure build quality aligns with internal standards and customer requirements.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider production team
  • Capable of prioritizing workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication and numerical skills (written and verbal)

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a production assembly environment
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100D quality standards
  • Soldering experience
  • Experience working within a quality assurance framework and maintaining documentation accuracy
