The Portsmouth Academy are seeking to appoint a dynamic Maths Teacher who will also take on the vital role of Mastery Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction of maths teaching and learning across the school and beyond.

You will teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, bringing lessons to life with creativity and clarity and a mastery-focused approach. As the Mastery Specialist, you will champion deep conceptual understanding, support curriculum development and provide leadership and professional development to colleagues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality maths lessons, fostering a love of learning and problem-solving.
  • Lead the implementation of a mastery curriculum across all year groups.
  • Work closely with the Head of Maths and SLT to raise attainment and close learning gaps. Mentor and support colleagues in developing mastery teaching strategies.
  • Represent the school in wider mastery networks and collaborate with national initiatives
