GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEN Teacher for a full-time position at a specialist school in Havant. The school caters to pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and complex learning needs. About the Role:
- Primary SEN Teacher
- Location: Havant
- Salary Scale: £31,650 to £49,084 per annum
- Start Date: ASAP
Primary SEN Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons tailored to the diverse needs of SEN pupils.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued and understood.
- Implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets effectively into daily teaching.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and communication tools.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide regular feedback to parents and carers.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other multi-disciplinary team members.
- Promote emotional regulation, independence, and social interaction through positive behaviour support.
- Ensure safeguarding policies are upheld and the well-being of every pupil remains the highest priority.
Requirements for the Primary SEN Teacher Role:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or be working towards it.
- Experience or a strong interest in teaching pupils with special educational needs.
- Empathy, patience, and a creative approach to teaching.
- A clear, checkable work history.
- A current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
