Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- To manage the development of new and innovative products from translation of the customer brief through to implementation in the factory.
- Support in presenting products to internal stakeholders and to the customers at submission meetings.
- Input recipes into the recipe management system and assess the cost, nutritionals and allergens against the brief.
- Run weekly cross functional NPD meetings and manage the critical path.
- Complete product submission forms for all products as requested by the customer.
- Contribute to regular brain-storming and development sessions.
- Request new raw materials through the procurement team, ensuring they meet quality, allergy, cost and customer requirements and input them into the recipe management system.
- Liaise with the Packaging Technologist on all new packaging requirements.
- Support in organising and participate in product bench marking sessions.
- Provide recipes to the Process Technologist for trials.
- To carry out any other duties as required by the needs of the company.
About you:
- Passion for food with 3 years + experience in the food industry within NPD and manufacturing.
- Previous experience in chilled desserts desirable.
- Experience working with retailers.
- Ability to build good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a large range of customers.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and quick to learn.
- Good commercial acumen, understanding of commercials when developing products.
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft office, especially excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- This is a customer facing role so good communication skills are essential.
