The Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join our growing production team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical assembly, fitting, and integration of electrical switchgear enclosures and associated components to a high standard of accuracy and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components, panels, and frameworks for electrical switchgear systems.

  • Work from detailed mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.

  • Install hinges, locks, busbars, supports, and other mechanical hardware.

  • Assist with layout and fitting of internal assemblies and subframes.

  • Carry out basic modifications, drilling, and tapping as required.

  • Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards.

  • Liaise with engineers, electricians, and project teams to resolve build issues.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following company H&S procedures.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter, assembler, or panel builder in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, drills, and general workshop equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience in electrical switchgear, control panels, or similar industries is highly desirable.
