My West London based client is looking for a Manual Turner to join on them on a permanent basis in their aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) facility.

You'll have experience working to fine tolerances using manual lathes and will support the precision machining requirements of aircraft components.
This role demands a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Strong experience in a similar role is essential.

Role: Manual Turner
Salary: 28,000 - 30,000 + shift allowance + strong benefits package
Location: West London
Hours: Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday
One week early shift, 06.30 - 14.30. One week late shift, 13.55-21.55.

Main responsibilities:

  • To operate all types of lathes to fine limits.
  • To be able to work unsupervised/ minimal supervision.
  • To be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • To take responsibility of work and others.
  • To observe and comply with company standards of conduct.
  • To be able to work on manual lathes working to fine tolerances.
  • An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental procedures.


Ideal candidate profile:

  • Strong experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred.
  • Experience in two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience of CNC programming.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
  • Decision maker, analysing for root causes rather than presenting the problem.
  • Self-motivated with flexible approach.
  • The position requires from time to time flexibility in working hours including working overtime at weekends.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
