Maintenance AssistantThis will be a key position for our clients and you will be joining a friendly professional team. The maintenance assistant role encompasses all aspects of site maintenance and requires a close working relationship with the Head of Maintenance, Head of Facilities, the Bursar and other members of the Estate team.Key responsibilitiesTo report to and liaise with the Head of Maintenance regarding all issues that relate to the maintenance and administration of the estate. To include (but not limited to) - All building and site repairs,- Health and safety compliance- Fire risk analysis and compliance- Security- Plumbing- COSHH- General maintenance- School logisticsTo assist with preventative maintenance. To review and negotiate with subcontractors, coordinate repairs and perform compliance tests under the supervision of the Head of Maintenance.To order parts, chemicals and stock in accordance with the school budget and purchasing procedures. To adhere to cost control and monitor the maintenance expenditure within the approved budgetTo maintain and ensure compliance with all the appropriate health and safety regulations. To undertake regular checks on a systematic basis and in particular:Weekly Legionella flushMonthly carbon-monoxide checksMonthly window safety checksMonthly Blind Cleat safety checkMonthly Smoke Alarm Battery checkMonthly Fire Extinguishers and Fire Blanket checksWeekly Equipment Safety checks: To maintain and check equipment safety, including but not limited to door closures, ladders, playground equipment and workshop facilitiesTo be Out of hours duty phone holder on a rota basis to be agreed.To assist the groundsman with gardening duties all the year round and maintenance of the grounds including mowing and marking pitches, as directed by the Head of Maintenance in conjunction with the groundsman.To perform carpentry, painting & decorating, plumbing and minor electrical work as may be required. To maintain locks and keys.This is a full-time position. Hours are 8.00am to 5pm Monday-Friday.(flexibility covering School events) overtime paid £28/£30K depending on experience #LI-PB1
