Teaching Assistant - SEMH (Primary)

Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Salary: 90 - 100 per day DOE

Join a supportive and forward-thinking school in West Sussex as a Teaching Assistant, dedicated to helping pupils aged 6-11 thrive both academically and personally.

We're looking for a caring and resilient TA to work alongside an experienced team, supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Every day is different, and as an LSA you'll make a real difference to a child's confidence, progress and wellbeing.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting pupils in class and through small-group or 1:1 TA interventions
  • Promoting emotional regulation, positive relationships and resilience
  • Encouraging independence and engagement in learning as a Teaching Assistant
  • Assisting with behaviour support using restorative and positive approaches
  • Helping prepare and deliver creative learning activities
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs (or a genuine passion to learn) in any setting
  • Brings patience, empathy and a calm, consistent approach
  • Can build trusting relationships and model positive behaviour
  • Works well as part of a collaborative, caring team
  • Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and helping every child succeed
