Primary Teacher Needed for SEMH School in Haywards Heath

We are working with a fantastic provision in Haywards Heath who are looking for the right individual to join their team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with Social and Emotional Needs, and able to teach KS1/KS2. A strong sense of behaviour management is important.

Their students range from KS1 through to KS4. They take part in a range of activities to enhance their learning, and they are supported, challenged and encouraged to succeed, both academically and pastorally.

The school caters to children aged six to twelve with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including those with Asperger’s Syndrome and those with a diagnosis of ADHD.

They are now looking for a new and passionate Primary Teacher to join their team for September 2025! This is also a permanent position.

About the role:
  • You would be in the one School ASAP, Full time.

  • Working with students who have challenging behaviour, attachment and trauma in class sizes of 4-6 pupils

  • This is a setting where having a calm, nurturing and empathetic nature is key

  • Some experience within SEND / SEMH preferable but not necessity

  • Passionate about supporting students and their social and emotional journey

  • Would accept ECT’s

What do I need?
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Driving Licence - Essential

  • Flexibility, enthusiasm and motivation to deliver great lessons

  • Understanding of SEMH

  • Behaviour management skills

  • An ability to adhere to and implement schools’ various policies
