Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Hardware Test Engineer with experience in the design, development, and execution of automated test systems for embedded hardware and electronic control units (ECUs). Specialized in LabVIEW programming, National Instruments (NI) hardware, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation for real-time validation of automotive, aerospace, and industrial control systems.

Proficient in creating robust test architectures, integrating sensors/actuators, and simulating real-world scenarios using HIL setups to ensure product reliability and compliance with safety standards.   The role requires you to have a background in mechanical and electrical systems, software biased. 

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Proven expertise in developing closed-loop test solutions for embedded systems, ideally within automotive or electronics industries
  • Advanced LabVIEW development experience
  • Software design skills, with hands-on experience in system integration
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting in high-pressure environments
  • Experience debugging and optimizing real-time software systems
  • you'll play a vital role in designing and implementing cutting-edge test solutions for advanced automotive electronics

Within this position, you’ll also be:

  • Develop closed-loop test systems using LabVIEW within existing hardware frameworks
  • Design and build bespoke Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) solutions, including electronic circuits, PCB layouts, and material fabrications
  • Implement automated test frameworks and tools to enhance consistency, efficiency, and repeatability in testing
  • Maintain and troubleshoot HIL systems, diagnosing integration issues across hardware and software components
