Senior R&D Engineer – Firmware DevelopmentEast Sussex | £45-55k dependent on experience | Bonus + Private Medical + Hybrid Options

Are you an experienced firmware developer with a passion for creating innovative, life-saving technology? We’re working with a market-leading manufacturer of specialist electronic safety systems who are looking to grow their R&D team with a highly skilled Senior Firmware Engineer.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and developing embedded firmware for cutting-edge life safety systems
  • Working on projects that impact sectors such as transport, retail, leisure, and public infrastructure
  • Collaborating with a skilled R&D team to deliver high-quality, industry-compliant solutions
  • Supporting the full development cycle from concept through to testing and release

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems
  • Extensive experience with microcontrollers, peripherals, and a variety of communication protocols
  • Confident working across multiple IDEs and board support packages
  • At least 10 years’ experience in firmware development with a track record of successful project delivery
  • A self-driven, detail-oriented individual who thrives both independently and as part of a team
