This well organised secondary school in the Heathfield area is seeking a behaviour mentor to start working in between immediately or January 2026. The school offers fantastic opportunities to progress and experience new types of roles, previously behaviour mentors have been given the opportunity to work as a cover supervisor, run interventions and potentially enrol on teacher training programmes. This role is open to experienced behaviour mentors, teaching assistants and learning support assistants.

The school are looking for motivated and proactive Behaviour Mentors to work alongside students that are removed from the classroom due to their behaviour. You will be knowledgeable or experienced in de-escalation, as well as those that require assistance with reading and writing. You will be working either 1:1 with pupils or in small groups, alongside other TAs/LSAs.

As a Behaviour Mentors / Behaviour Specialists, you will have experience;

  • Supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups, fostering learning and independence.
  • Assisting with classroom management and create a calm, supportive environment.
  • Preparing tailored resources and support communication and social skills development.
  • Building meaningful relationships with students, staff and communicating with families if required.
