Job Title: Interim Senior Inventory Accountant (6-Month Contract)

Location: Hybrid with some travel to Hemel Hempstead

Contract Length: 6 months

Rate: c£600 per day (Umbrella - inside) but some flexibility depending on experience

Robert Half are recruiting for an experienced Senior Inventory Accountant to support a leading global business on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong manufacturing and inventory finance background to step into a highly visible, hands-on role within global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key finance partner to operations across five manufacturing sites globally
  • Lead and support cost roll processes, including SAP standard costing updates and variance analysis
  • Deliver accurate inventory reporting, including provisions and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure robust cost control, analysing under/over absorption and driving transparency in manufacturing costs
  • Support planning cycles, including quarterly forecasts, strategic plans, and board-level reporting
  • Work closely with plant finance and operations teams to enhance financial visibility and decision-making

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant.
  • Previous experience as an Inventory accountant is essential
  • Knowledge of absorption process, cost roll and manufacturing / plant variances is also required.
  • Strong background in SAP, particularly with standard costing and inventory modules
  • Excellent Excel skills, including Power Query and macro writing
  • Comfortable working across international teams in a matrixed environment
